Rotavirus/Adenovirus
Rotavirus and adenovirus are the main pathogens causing diarrhea in infants and young children. They primarily infect the epithelial cells of the small intestine, leading to cell damage and resulting in diarrhea. Severe diarrhea can cause dehydration and even death.
Treatment for rotavirus and adenovirus infections mainly involves rehydration, electrolyte supplementation, and prevention of acidosis. Antibiotics are not recommended. Therefore, accurate diagnosis of the pathogen is essential for precise treatment and to avoid antibiotic misuse.
Operation Procedure
After defecation, use the sampling spoon to collect samples from the surface and deep areas of the stool.
Place the sampling spoon into the sample tube containing diluent and gently shake to mix well.
Remove the tube cap and add 2-3 drops of the stool suspension to the sample well of the test card.
Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and observe the results.
