Promoting the healthy development of the medical testing and diagnostic industry
Company R&D investment increased by nearly 40%, Aiwei Technology is focusing on the primary medical market
On May 19, Aiwei Technology held its 2021 annual shareholders' meeting, where it was decided to distribute a cash dividend of RMB 3 (including tax) per 10 shares to all shareholders. Chairman Ding Jianwen stated at the meeting: "The company will continue to increase investment in research and development, continuously enrich its product line, and actively explore the primary medical market."
Aiwei Technology's main business is the research, development, production, sales, and service of medical clinical testing analyzers, accompanying in-vitro diagnostic reagents, and medical consumables. In 2021, the company achieved operating income of RMB 211 million, a year-on-year increase of 16.91%; net profit was RMB 31.275 million, a year-on-year increase of 3.90%.
Since its establishment in 2000, Aiwei Technology has been committed to the research and development of medical automatic microscopy equipment based on machine vision. Ding Jianwen is both the leader of the listed company and a "researcher" who has been working at the forefront of medical testing for more than 40 years. In 2021, Aiwei Technology's R&D investment reached RMB 31.2027 million, a year-on-year increase of 37.94%.
In 2021, the company added 26 registration certificates for Class I and Class II medical devices, further enriching its product line. The successful registration of the key product AVE-26 series fully automated blood cell morphology analyzer represents that the company's automated microscopy products have comprehensively covered various clinical specimen testing fields, including urine, feces, gynecology, body fluids, and blood.
Regarding the company's future research and development direction, Aiwei Technology stated that the company will adopt a combination of independent research and development and project introduction to vigorously carry out research and development of new projects, new technologies, and new products in biochemistry, immunology, blood analysis, pathology diagnosis, POCT, and smart medical care, enriching the company's product line and expanding the company's sales scale and profitability.
The annual report shows that Aiwei Technology's sales expenses in 2021 were RMB 54.386 million, a year-on-year increase of 23.49%. Aiwei Technology stated that by increasing market investment, the company achieved a good situation of "domestic and international markets blooming together, and online and offline channels working together" in sales in 2021.
By the end of 2021, the company's medical testing instruments had accumulated more than 12,000 units installed in China, with terminal installations in more than 5,000 hospitals. The market share of several leading products ranks among the top in the domestic industry. At the same time, overseas market development has made significant progress. In 2021, the company signed 7 new international agents and completed the evaluation experiment of the key product AVE-572 fecal formed element analyzer and its accompanying consumables, laying the foundation for further development of the US market.
In 2022, Aiwei Technology, which continues to cultivate the field of medical institutions, will increase its efforts to expand the primary medical market. Data shows that Aiwei Technology has accumulated more than 3,000 terminal installations in top three hospitals in China and has achieved terminal installations and sales of accompanying reagents and consumables in more than 50% of tertiary hospitals nationwide, achieving a good market share in the market of large and medium-sized medical institutions nationwide.
Targeting the main pain point of "diagnostic difficulties" in primary medical institutions, Aiwei Technology has launched automated diagnostic instruments, which are expected to win a higher market share. In addition, the company's products are currently innovating and breaking through in the direction of informationization, digitization, intelligence, multi-functionality, and lightweight, in order to better meet the needs of the primary medical market and gain a competitive advantage in the primary medical market.
