Promoting the healthy development of the medical testing and diagnostic industry
It's not easy for anyone - New Spring wishes from the builders of the new district (Part 2)
A pioneer in industrial projects
Liang Longquan, Party Secretary of the Longyuan Lithium Energy Lithium Battery Expansion Project, China Minmetals 23rd Metallurgical Corporation

The past year has been extraordinarily meaningful for me. The Longyuan Lithium Energy Lithium Battery Expansion Project I'm involved in is one of Changsha's "Top Ten Industrial Projects," with a total investment of 10 billion RMB, constructed in two phases. It includes the construction of an annual production line of 80,000 tons of ternary cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries and a 60,000-ton lithium iron phosphate material production line, along with related supporting facilities.
During the project construction, I faced the combined challenges of a tightening construction market and repeated outbreaks of the epidemic, leading to tighter deadlines, heavier workloads, and higher standards.
Construction is a high-risk industry for safety accidents, and the complex and changing epidemic situation this year has significantly increased management pressure. We detailed task nodes down to the week, and then used the weekly plan as a basis to reverse-schedule the timeline, forming a daily work list. For important nodes and processes, the daily plan was even broken down into half-day plans. Each work area had a manager assigned to supervise the entire process, checking the completion status every half-day, with daily summaries. Any work delays had to be made up for through overtime that night, achieving the effect of completing tasks the same day. This ensured that all production and handover nodes were completed on schedule.
Regarding epidemic prevention, I participated in gatehouse duty and epidemic prevention posts, going into workers' dormitories to check temperatures, verify health codes, and distribute epidemic prevention materials. I personally helped workers solve problems caused by inconsistencies in their health codes due to time and space factors. We organized the administration of booster shots and conducted over 80,000 nucleic acid tests.
Given the tight deadlines and heavy workload, we innovatively proposed a system of party member responsibility zones. Every process inspection required the responsible party member to be present. If a previous process had defects, the subsequent process was strictly prohibited from starting, ensuring a 100% one-time acceptance rate for quality. Through our efforts, the project achieved excellent quality standardization assessment for multiple quarters, and the second phase of the project won the Changsha Municipal Excellent Structural Engineering Award.
Over the past year, I am very pleased that, with our efforts working against the clock, the project is now comprehensively advancing the second phase of construction. In the future, I believe that upon the project's completion, it will further promote the intensive development of the advanced energy storage material industry in the Chang-Zhu-Tan region, and make positive contributions to Changsha's development as a national important advanced manufacturing center and national science and technology innovation center.
A practitioner in the development of an open economy
Zhou Fangzhou, General Manager of Changsha Manda Run Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd.

Ten years ago, after returning from studying abroad, I started working for international organizations, foreign companies, and overseas high-level talents. I established "Manda Run" in Changsha. The name "Manda Run" is derived from Mandarin, which refers to both a type of citrus fruit native to Hunan and the term for the standard Chinese language. The main goal was to tell China's story while also enabling foreign friends to share their perspectives on China. We also founded Hunan's first institution to serve foreign nationals and overseas NGOs—the "Changsha High-tech Zone Foreign Enterprise Service Center."
"Stable housing leads to stable work. Serving foreign friends well in settling down in Changsha and contributing to Changsha's open economic development has become one of our company's missions."
We continuously leverage our strengths, actively integrate overseas resources, and provide accurate, high-quality, and caring services to overseas NGOs, foreign-funded enterprises, and foreign nationals in the new district, ensuring that they trust us, feel at ease, and have peace of mind. As of November 2022, we provided services in Chinese, English, Korean, French, and Nepali, totaling 911 times; provided consultation services to government units, foreign individuals, media, and international schools 74 times; assisted foreign nationals of companies in the new district in successfully obtaining green cards, work visas, and residence permits. In 2022, the service center received the "Advanced Service Unit" award from the Hunan Provincial Public Security Department's Overseas NGO.
In my work experience, I have encountered things that moved me. During the epidemic, Korean friend Shi Bingyuan moved his family to Changsha and established the Guiwei Electronic Information Technology Institute in Changsha, expressing his support for and recognition of China through practical actions. Mr. Shi Bingyuan, with the tenacity and determination characteristic of Koreans, also tells his China story.
In the future, we will continue to fully play our role as a bridge, actively acting as a practitioner in the development of an open economy, and continuing to provide legal consultation (including labor and foreign investment law) for foreign individuals, foreign-funded enterprises, and overseas NGOs.
Enabling the public to enjoy modern medical and health services
Zhou Fengliang, Master of Tsinghua University, Senior Engineer, Director and Vice General Manager of Aiwei Technology Co., Ltd.

When I first graduated and came to Changsha, the large-scale equipment used for medical examinations in hospitals basically relied on imports. After founding Aiwei Technology, our idea was simple: to develop automated microscopy to end the history of manual microscopy and to enable the public to enjoy modern medical and health services.
The path of innovation and entrepreneurship is not easy. With the help of our independently developed fully automatic stool analyzer, the detection rate of liver flukes has increased by more than double compared with manual microscopy. Importantly, automated microscopy technology has ended the history of complex manual microscopy, allowing inspectors to avoid the "dirty, smelly, and messy" work environment and improving testing efficiency by more than 20 times.
Through hard work and perseverance, our initial vision has gradually become a reality. By the end of 2022, we had applied for 334 domestic and foreign patents and had 229 authorized valid patents, including 77 domestic invention patents and 12 foreign invention patents. Core patents have been successfully converted and applied to related products, such as urine formed element analyzers, fully automatic urine dry chemistry analyzers, and fully automatic stool analyzers. A total of over 14,000 units of these high-performance innovative medical devices have been installed in hospitals across the country, covering more than 5,000 grade hospitals.
"Enabling the public to enjoy modern medical services"—this goal has become increasingly clear in my mind during my research and development work. In the past year, affected by the broader economic environment, our in-vitro diagnostic business has been somewhat impacted, but innovation has never stopped. This year, we have focused on automated microscopy, dry chemistry, and laboratory testing platforms. We have used continuous dynamic image acquisition and expanded field of view methods to improve the clarity and analysis speed of automated microscopy images; and on the basis of identifying major categories, we have added subdivisions and optimized identification algorithms… New products such as optional urine modular assembly lines, multi-functional microscopy, and multi-functional dry chemistry instruments are also being continuously developed.
Technology serves health. In the future, I will unswervingly strive to achieve the vision of "enabling the public to enjoy modern medical and health services," and through our innovation, making self-health checks as simple as brushing teeth.
Maintain Passion, Strive for Success
Xiong Di, Operation Management Department, Xiangjiang Group Meixi Lake Company

Looking back at 2022, it can be summarized in four words: Reset, Restart.
From party building work to project operation management, in 2022, I started a new chapter in my career development, beginning to work on collecting operational data, supervising the implementation of feedback work, and tracking and supervising project progress. New positions, new challenges, I always believe: Everything works out for the best.
In my work, I have witnessed the responsibility and dedication of Mexihu Company as a state-owned enterprise. The construction, transformation, and handover of 39 infrastructure and livelihood projects, including the Sanhuan Line tunnel sound barrier and the Yue麓 Elementary School pedestrian overpasses, have significantly improved the quality of the area and the living environment, enhancing the image of this first-class new district. As my understanding of the company's overall operation deepens, I am proud of Mexihu Company's high-quality development. This pride has become my work motivation, driving me to excel in my position—in this year's work, I was awarded "Outstanding Party Worker" and "Outstanding Employee" of the third quarter by the company.
Looking forward to 2023, opportunities and challenges coexist. The "post-epidemic era" and the new situation of "three zones in one" create intense development competition. To achieve high-quality, leapfrog development, we must have the determination to "sprint from the start and fight from the outset." Only by maintaining our passion and our original aspirations can we prove our existence and truly live out our value.
In the new year, may our hopes and dreams come true!
Returning to campus to cultivate new talents
Luo Xiangjun, Principal of Lugu Primary School

Time flies, and before we know it, 2022 has passed.
This year, I returned from the Education Bureau to the campus I longed for, back to the children, to serve as the principal of Lugu Primary School; this year, we experienced the suspension of classes due to the epidemic, campus renovations, reforms and innovations...
This year, challenges and opportunities coexisted, with both sweat and laughter. The classroom is the "life field" for teachers and students to grow. Upon arriving at Lugu Primary School, my favorite thing to do was to go to classrooms to listen to lessons, observe classroom teaching in various subjects, experience the symbiosis and co-creation of teachers and students in the classroom, understand the management and culture of each class, and listen to the opinions and ideas of teachers and students. As an independent education brand in the Xiangjiang New Area, the school's positioning of "leading the large area" and the development goal of "quality-oriented" education and teaching have become increasingly clear.
This year, I will never forget the children's running and striving in the school sports meet, and the wonderful class presentations; I will never forget the day and night struggle in the scorching heat, completing the renovation of the exterior walls of six teaching buildings in just 53 days; I will never forget the online teaching guidance and the development of home education video courses provided by teachers during the epidemic home isolation... In more than 300 days and nights of pursuing dreams together, the "Lugu Primary School students" have used their actions to interpret the "Lugu Primary School" spirit: unity, initiative, daring to be the first, and striving for excellence.
This year, Lugu Primary School successfully established itself as a provincial civilized campus and was awarded the title of a national demonstration school for "Science Classes in the Science Museum." More than 600 teachers and students won awards in various activities at all levels, and the school won the first prize in the annual performance evaluation of the New District Education System...
All honors are just the beginning. Looking forward to 2023, Lugu Primary School will be guided by the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, adhere to running a "research and innovation-oriented" modern brand school, implement five projects: "modernization of school governance, cultivation of research-oriented teachers, reform of comprehensive student evaluation, construction of school curriculum system, and optimization of campus ecology," comprehensively improve the quality of education, explore the development path of the Lugu Education Group, and submit a satisfactory answer sheet to the Party and the people with practical actions!
